An awesome time was had by all at last night’s event. Big thanks to everyone who came down to play/perve/drink! The feature set from Soup was inspiring and it was great to hear him on the guitar, processing it up live and creating some lush cinematic textures. To those of you who came to jam for the first time, excellent work, please come again! As for our regulars, your continued support and input makes this monthly event a highlight.

Hey there peeps,
OUTPOST brings the beat back this Wednesday the 25th of June at Horse Bazaar from 8:30 p.m. As per usual, entry is a bargain at $0.
We are most pleased to have l’enfent terrible of Melbourne downbeat, Thomas Campbell (aka. Soup) coming down to do a feature slot and no doubt jam up as well. Soup, former producer of Melbourne Trip-hop band ‘Miso’ has been reveling in his downtime/studio time after the band played there last show two months ago. Soup’s production style has developed with an emphasis on live sound manipulation and next week’s OUTPOST will be a continuation of this approach, although now he will be incorporating his guitar into his arsenal of sonic material.

Awesome work to everyone who came down and put in for Analog Outpost. It was really great to see such a variety of gear from old Roland and Yamaha boxes to a pocket theremin to a plethora of guitar pedals and a Moog Voyager.
Huge thanks to Dylab and Steve Law for doing a few extra trips to the car and bringing down the hardware for some inspiring solo sets. I have cut together video of the first jam and Boz recorded the second jam as audio. They will be posted up shortly so stay tuned.
This month, OUTPOST is going Old School with an emphasis on analog sound equipment for both the feature artists and jams.
Melbourne electronic music icon Zen Paradox (aka. Steve Law) is coming down to do a feature set after ripping it up in the jams a few months back.
Steve has been producing avant garde and electro-acoustic music since 1984, and in 1996 was awarded the ABC Classic FM Computer Music Award for his composition “Urbania”.
606 meister DyLAB (aka. Dylan Davis) is bringing a few of his retro Roland boxes to give us a feature show on his birthday which should be full of squelchy goodness!
We are very excited about the jam component for this months event. Jammers, bring down your synths, samplers, groove boxes, fx and any other noise making devices.
If you want to use your laptop to process any of these sounds live, crank it up!

Boys and girls come out to play for OUTPOST #17 this Wednesday the 26th of March at Horse Bazaar from 8:30p.m.
We are very pleased to have a solo set from Jason Hearn (a.k.a. Jase from Outta Space) for OUTPOST #17. Formerly based in Perth, Jase has just finished prep for his new live show after spending 5 years engaged purely in studio projects. The new show has a very hands-on approach to on-the-fly, improvised live sequencing. Jase’s music spans anything from downbeat glitch-hop, deep-n-fruity electro house, through to dark breaks and hyper-tempo drum’n'bass so we are eager to hear what he has in store for this months event.
Sammy Counihan is also coming down to do a mashed up set with decks and FX which will be fun!
NEWS ON THE JAMS FOR OUTPOST
Everyone did some fantastic interpretation of last months themes for the jams so we are going to explore a couple more for OUTPOST #17.
1. One Sound Jam. Use only one sound and develop.
2. BPM shift. Using a random number generator, we are going to set a couple of tempos and morph between them throughout a jam.
